Fully one-third of the book is devoted to detailed suggestions for providing optimum growing conditions for vandas.
Grove is an award-winning orchid grower and has the largest collection of vandas and ascocendas in the northeastern United States. He is an accredited judge for the American Orchid Society and was a Vice President of that organization from 1990 to 1994. He has authored many articles for the American Orchid Society Bulletin and Awards Quarterly.

Page 75 presents two equations for calculating volumetric and mass flow, respectively. It's not a good mystery unless there is a twistor twoor threeor so many twists you begin to question when enough is enough.

The actual mutiny and aftermath take up 50 pages or so. Heffernan is unflinching in his description of Worth's demise saying "they ran the boarding knife through his body and drove it home with a blow from an axe; it entered below the stomach and came out the neck."
