Derrick Harriell is an assistant professor in English and Afro American Studies at the University of Mississippi. His poems have been published in numerous journals and anthologies. Cotton (Aquarius Press/Willow Books, 2010) was his first collection of poems.
The story also treats readers to a great message about sharing, and it's one that even toddlers will understand. As we read on however we see the truth of it. I think it's safe bet that most people have been touched by some form of dementia, whether it's a parent, a grand parent or a friend. That's simply not the case with "The Merlin Mystery," a garbled wreck of a treasure hunt with artwork that does not hold up on its own.
