The Carmen de Hastingae Proelio is one of the most discussed sources for the Norman Conquest of England. For this second edition, Frank Barlow has written an entirely new and substantial historical introduction, incorporating the scholarly research of a generation. He has also provided a fresh translation and notes, as well as revising the Latin text of the 1972 edition by Catherine Morton and Hope Muntz.
Frank Barlow is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Exeter. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and of the Royal Society of Literature.

The scenes were of a level I never read before and won't be something I soon forget. Most wolves have between 3-4 baby wolves. This book is easy to read as it uses a story (and causes a few laughs as you recognise your colleagues and yourself) to convey a simple but striking message. I bought this one for my preschool son.
