The first point was that people to whom good luck seems to happen develop a spiderweb structure of relationships with other people. I teach an instrumentation course and am required to use this text. a classic easy read good perspective. good sale. I believe it is an excellent history. You could skip the first half of the book that addresses the various theories of luck and still get the real value of the author's thoughts.

The second half of the book entitled "The Quest" contains the author's five critical points and it is this half that you must read. He chooses to go back and attack those who disagreed with him (John Lott and Andrew Breitbart, for example) but conveniently ignores interviews in which he didn't necessarily come out on top (Ben Shapiro and Jonah Goldberg, to name two), which left me considering the author thin-skinned.
