D. I bought this for my son's 6th birthday, and he loves it. Each of the main characters is involved in their own plotline, with the book jumping back and forth between the three withouht any connection or cohesion. Sure, people who are just diagnosed should buy a few gluten-free cook books and a grocery reference guide, but they MUST pick GLEE! up as a safety net to get started right away.
People who are interested in GLEE! should also know that they can follow the author, Elizabeth Atkinson, on Twitter. He somehow successfully pulls off a combination of down-home humor and sexual exploits without being offensive. As a professor of environmental health science, I find this text to be one of the most comprehensive, balanced, and science-rich texts avaialble. I find this book to be more friendly to the average orchidist and if I could would give it a "10". Although it is wide-ranging, it lacks depth, even for an `essentials' book.
